Wedding season is officially upon us!
When we started wedding planning two years ago, I dreamed of a magical Disney wedding in the Wedding Pavilion at the Grand Floridian.
We requested additional information from Disney’s Fairytale Weddings and quickly learned that it may not be the best option for us. Aside from budget, some of the guests we couldn’t imagine our wedding day without would not be able to afford the expense of traveling if we got married at Disney.
We ended up finding the perfect venue for us, but secretly I am still holding out hope to have some sort of magical ceremony at Disney one day. Is it too early for a vow renewal??? A girl can dream.
When I started planning the details, I knew I wanted to incorporate small aspects of Disney into our theme. It is our happy place – pretty much the only place we vacation, a place we have made family memories, and a place we love to constantly explore together.
We decided to have a “Happily Ever After” theme. With the help of Etsy and Pinterest I found so many great ideas to incorporate touches of Disney into our elegant wedding.
I tried to buy items that I could repurpose and use throughout our home to give it a Disney touch too!
Here are just some of our ideas from our wedding:
Welcome to Our Happily Ever After sign ordered from Etsy
Here Comes the Bride Sign for the Ringbearer in Disney font ordered from Etsy
The back of the Ringbearer sign from Etsy
This Mickey floral arrangement was in the center of the seating card table at the entrance of our reception. Ordered from Etsy and the flowers are faux so this could last past our wedding day. This reminded me of a “Hidden Mickey.”
Our guestbook ordered from Etsy
Our alternate guestbook was a wooden cutout of Cinderella’s castle. Ordered from Etsy.
We used the Lenox Mickey and Minnie’s Dream Wedding figurine as our wedding cake topper. This made for an awesome keepsake on showcase in our home too. We scored this piece for only $56 on Amazon!
We toasted to our big day with these champagne flute charms including a Mickey charm made by the bridal party.
We also had personalized champagne flutes with a subtle Mickey and Minnie. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a picture of our actual flutes. Ordered these from Etsy as well.
Nick wore both the Mickey cufflinks and Mickey tie clip. Both items are stainless steel with a black Mickey. Ordered both of these items from Amazon.
Our dog Lily also made an appearance and sported a flower accessory with a Mickey on it. We actually scored this collar accessory from our local Disney outlet.
And of course….we surprised each other with Disney themed wedding day gifts!
This watch is from Uptown Jewelers on Main Street, U.S.A. and the embroidered handkerchief is from Etsy.
There are so many ways to incorporate your love for Disney into your wedding day whether or not you are getting married at a Disney Park or Resort.
Hope these ideas help you with planning your big day!
