Resort Overview

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is one of the newer resorts on property opening in 2012. The theme of the resort is, as you guess, animation.

The Buildings are themed around The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Finding Nemo and Cars. The different buildings feature large statues of your favorite Disney characters all across the resort, great for photo-ops.

Art of Animation is the sister resort to Pop Century. In the early 2000s construction began on what was going to be an earlier decades version of Pop Century.

Due to changes in the economy this resort was put on hold for a decade. When construction started again the way people vacation had changed so the design and theme was changed to be converted to mostly family suites.

This resort is connected to Disney’s Pop Century Resort via Hourglass Lake.
