A lot of new exciting details and dates have come out about a lot of the coming changes to Walt Disney World resort.
Over at Hollywood Studios we learned that Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway has a set opening of March 4, 2020. This new attraction, taking over The Great Movie Ride, will take guests on a journey into a Mickey Mouse cartoon short.
A new dining location is coming to Toy Story Land, Roundup Rodeo BBQ Restaurant. This table service restaurant will be a nice addition to the land, offering a great place to sit and enjoy the theming (and air conditioning).
A new Mickey Shorts Theater will be coming and will feature a new animated short ‘Vacation Fun’. The area will also feature photo opportunities.
Lastly, we have learned that the new Star Wars themed hotel will be called ‘Star Wares: Galactic Starcruiser. This hotel will be opening in 2021. Guests will be able to enjoy 2 days and 2 nights completely immersed in the Star Wars story.
All hotel windows will look out into space and special transportation will be available to access Galaxy’s Edge!
At Epcot a lot of new details came out for this first phase of the overhaul of the park.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will be opening in the France Pavilion in summer 2020. Guests will board a Remy vehicle and head on an adventure through Gusteau’s restaurant.
Three new films will be debuting on January 17, 2020. “Awesome Planet” will be opening in The Land and will showcase the Earth’s beauty in a 10-minute film.
“Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along” opening in the France Pavilion will play in alongside “Impressions de France.” The new sing-along show will feature a new telling of the classic where LeFou is the hero who puts Belle and the Beast together.
Taking over the current Phineas and Ferb game around World Showcase will be a new game themed to DuckTales called “Disney’s DuckTales World Showcase Adventure.” The new game will utilize the Play Disney Parks mobile app and guests will be able to team up with all of their favorite DuckTales characters “discovering exotic destinations, exciting mysteries, and maybe even a few thieves, villains and supernatural guardians of ancient artifacts.”
The Space 220 restaurant, attached to the Mission: Space Pavilion, will be opening this winter! The restaurant will “transport guests” 220 miles in the air via an elevator where guests can dine looking out into space.
And finally over at The American Adventure Pavilion the Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue will be opening this winter. This dining location “will celebrate American backyard barbecue with flavors from different regions around the United States.”
